An encouraging environment can make all the difference in your child’s musical journey. With a one-to-one teaching approach, I’m able to focus on your child’s individual needs and provide them with the personalized attention and care they deserve. Your child will be encouraged to stretch themselves in a nurturing environment so that they can discover their potential and develop a love for music to last a lifetime.
Trying to keep up with a pre-set curriculum can often become discouraging for students. So I take a different approach. My customized plans are tailored to your child’s individual needs and abilities, based on where they’re at today. Your child will set goals that excite them and make sense for their unique situation. They’ll progress at their own pace and feel motivated and confident in their abilities. Before you know it, you’ll both be amazed at the progress they’re making and the musicians they are becoming.
Music is not just about learning theory, it’s also about the connection between your body, mind, and emotions. Students will learn how to develop this connection and will become more well-rounded musicians in the process. Through this holistic approach, your child will unlock their full capacity to sing and perform with greater confidence.
With plenty of flexibility and personalization, every student will have what they need to fully enjoy their learning experience!
Lessons are open to students of all ages and skill levels!
30/45/60 min lessons are available
Lesson times are available after school and on evenings and weekends.
I am pleased to serve students across Hamilton, Dundas, Stoney Creek, Binbrook, Grimsby and others online. I’m happy to discuss what best suits your lesson needs.
I’ll suggest resources matched to age, skill & interest level and will help source musical materials, books and other lesson and practice aids.
We’ll explore the many ways in which the mind, body, language and diction are all connected in music while aligning them to each student’s personality, vocal range and goals.
Music is powerful. It brings people together. It brings joy. It helps us develop confidence. It has the power to move us. As a teacher, I help students experience this power of music through a relational and holistic approach to teaching.
I love getting to know each student for the special and unique individuals that they are. I’m a natural encourager and aim to create a nurturing environment where your child feels supported as they stretch themselves to try new things. Students are encouraged to participate in their craft outside of lessons, through festivals, musicals and other groups. And whenever I can, I love to be in the audience cheering them on!
From years of experience, I have found that the best way to fully engage in any musical performance is to fully engage your body, mind, and emotions together. As students understand this important connection, they become more well-rounded musicians. My hope is that, along the way, they’ll also develop a deeper appreciation for music and discover a passion that will last a lifetime.
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, I discovered a passion for singing at the age of nine when I joined the Hamilton Children’s Choir. That passion continued to develop as I completed my Bachelor of Music education and artist diploma from Western University and began my career as a classically trained opera singer. Over the course of my training, I have been fortunate to have sat under the wisdom of many wonderful professionals who have given me a diverse set of skills and techniques. Being able to pass these down to my students is one of my favourite aspects of teaching.
Since 2016, I’ve had a great opportunity to teach with various local studios and music companies in Hamilton and the surrounding area. As part of my teaching I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the music industry. This includes several international experiences in Italy, Spain, Poland, and Sweden. Each of these encounters have enriched my teaching with knowledge of different languages and a unique global perspective.
That’s a little about me. Now I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s start an exciting musical journey together!
